Historic Ph.D. Milestone for Alexa

The LI3TMES Group proudly congratulates Alexa on becoming the group’s first student to earn a Ph.D. She is also among the first three graduates of UTRGV’s Materials Science and Engineering Ph.D. program, marking a historic milestone for both the university and our research group. Her achievement reflects years of dedicated research, innovation, perseverance, and hard work. Ilias Got Best Presentation Award

Md Ilias Rahman received the Best Presentation Award at the STEM 2026 Conference for his presentation titled “A Tungstophosphoric Acid-Doped Sulfonated Polyether Ether Ketone Electrochemical Sensor for Label-Free Trichloromethane Detection.” Congratulations on this well-deserved recognition.

Faiza got 1st Position

Faiza Islam competed in the Regional Science and Engineering fair, placing 1st in her category and receiving the YSEA and Grand Champion Award. She will compete at ISEF in Phoenix, Arizonia to connect with students and researchers from over 75 countries. Congratulations!

Dr. Ahmed Hasnain Jalal visited CUET and delivered an invited seminar on “Nanomaterials for Biomedical and Environmental Systems.” During the visit, he met with the Vice-Chancellor and discussed future academic and research collaborations between UTRGV and CUET.

Roy Receives Innovative Paper Award at ASME IMECE 2025

Roy Rodriguez received the Innovative Paper Award from the MEMS Division at the ASME International Mechanical Engineering Congress and Exposition (IMECE) 2025. The award recognized the paper “Highly Sensitive Phosphotungstic Acid-Doped Polyamide-6 Nanofibers/Sulfonated Polyether Ether Ketone Composite Membrane for Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell-Based Ethanol Sensor.”

This recognition highlights the team’s innovative research in advanced membrane materials and fuel-cell-based chemical sensing and represents a significant achievement for the research group and UTRGV.

New PhD Student Joins Li3TMES
